Introduction of our tesla model 3 review

The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most popular electric vehicles, setting a high standard in the EV market. Known for its powerful motor and impressive features, the Model 3 combines innovation with efficiency.

Its long-range battery ensures reliable charge capacity, while the streamlined design emphasizes comfort with spacious seats and advanced driving performance, including top speed capabilities.

Tesla Model 3, Types & Versions

The Tesla Model 3 comes in three versions. They all have different prices, power and range. Here's the list of the different types of this EV you can compare:

  1. Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive ($54,990)
  2. Long Range All-Wheel Drive ($59,990)
  3. Performance All-Wheel Drive ($69,990)

What is The Main Difference Between Rear-Wheel and All-Wheel Drive?

Feature

Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD)

All-Wheel Drive (AWD)

Power Distribution

Powers only the rear wheels

Uses dual motors to power both front and rear wheels

Driving Range

Up to 584 km on a full charge

Shorter range due to dual motor, typically up to 548 km (Long Range)

Performance

More efficient, better for long trips

Faster acceleration, superior handling, better traction

Traction

Adequate for most road conditions

Enhanced traction, especially in slippery or rough conditions

Acceleration

Slightly slower than AWD

Quick acceleration with improved performance brakes for enhanced control

Use Case

Ideal for maximizing range and efficiency

Ideal for those needing better control in various weather conditions

Additional Notes:

    • Seats and interior comfort are identical across both models, but are different for the performance model with a racing style!
    • AWD is better suited for performance-focused drivers or those driving in challenging road conditions.
    • We find that AWD wears tires more evenly!
    • The performance model tires wear out faster because we tend to use the full power of the car more often.
    • When tested, we find that AWD tesla have less chances of getting stuck in snow, mud or ice.

Which One To Buy

The base setup for most electric cars includes rear-wheel drive with a single electric motor, but many models also offer a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration for enhanced traction and performance. We suggest considering both the rear- and all-wheel-drive Long Range versions, delivering an impressive estimated driving range. Personally, the team at Ingenext do prefer the AWD model, for overall benefits, comfort & stability in the winter. That said, for our speed enthusiasts in the shop, nothing beats the AWD Model equipped with a Ghost Module. If you buy a dual motor, check your rear motor; you might be able to upgrade it to performance with our Ghost module!

Design & Exterior

Updated Exterior Styling (2024 Refresh)

The 2024 Tesla Model 3 introduces refreshed exterior styling that enhances its sleek, modern appearance. The front bumper and headlights are subtly redesigned, contributing to a more aggressive look while improving aerodynamics. The rear features updated tail lights, providing a sharper profile for the sedan. The vehicle’s clean lines not only improve aesthetics but also optimize the electric car's efficiency, helping to extend the long range driving capabilities.

Exterior Fitting Components

The updated exterior fittings on the Model 3, such as door handles and window trims, are carefully designed to enhance aerodynamics, contributing to improved efficiency and smoother airflow around the car.

Aerodynamics and Build Quality

Built with precision, the Tesla Model 3’s aerodynamic design is key to its performance and efficiency. The carefully sculpted body reduces drag, helping the long-range EV achieve up to 548 km on a single charge, depending on the model. Enhanced build quality also means reduced cabin noise, while the wheels are designed to improve comfort and handling. These improvements support a more stable wheel drive, ensuring an effortless drive experience even at high speeds.

Performance

Acceleration

The 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance impresses with its lightning-quick acceleration. As we tested and bought, the model 3 is reaching 0-60 mph (0-100km/h) in just 3.1 seconds with the performance model. This rapid acceleration is powered by dual electric motors, making it one of the fastest electric cars in its class. If you want to go faster and not pay for the performance model, you can add a Boost 50, Boost SR, Boost LFP or Ghost Upgrade to your Tesla model 3! The AWD can do 4.4s and the RWD 5.2s.

Adding Performance Brake and Steering

With the high-performance acceleration, the Tesla performance brakes ensure enhanced stopping power, while the steering system delivers precise control, allowing for sharp turns and dynamic handling even at high speeds.

Top Speed & 1-60 MPH Times

With a top speed of 262Km/h, the Model 3 Performance delivers a thrilling drive. This speed capability is ideal for those seeking both high-speed performance and long-range EV driving.

Handling

Thanks to an advanced adaptive suspension system, the Model 3 Performance offers precise handling. Drivers can switch between driving modes, from comfort-focused to track-ready settings, ensuring a smooth drive experience regardless of conditions.

Driving Mode

Tesla's model 3 has three driving modes, including:

    • Chill;
    • Standard;
    • Insane.

Each mode adjusts the vehicle's handling and power delivery, offering optimal performance for both daily use and performance driving.

Chill Mode

Chill mode will let you ensure a smooth ride while keeping a limit on acceleration. It's a great way to save energy!

Standard

The Standard mode is simply the normal acceleration. This acceleration is meant for driving the car the way it was designed!

Insane

With the insane mode, you will use the maximum power and level of acceleration the car can give right away! The insane mode will affect the range and efficiency.

Motor and Powertrain Variants

The Model 3 offers different powertrain options, from the Rear-wheel drive variant to the high-performance dual motor all-wheel drive version. The dual-motor setup delivers enhanced torque and traction, providing excellent control even at high speeds.

Adding Front and Rear Drive Unit

The performance model utilizes both a front drive unit and a rear drive unit to optimize power distribution, ensuring traction and stability even during aggressive acceleration.

FAQ

Is the Full self-driving feature is included in the Tesla Model 3?

No. We did experience the feature, which is a must in our opinion, but it comes at a add-on. You can have the feature for 11,000$. The FSD has greatly improved in recent years and the fact that you can now subscribe by the month makes it more accessible. It's worth a try!

Est-ce que les Tesla Model 3 on le mode «Off road»

No, the off road assist is only available on the Tesla Model Y. This feature allows the motors to split the torque (50/50) giving better traction for winter driving among other things. However, our Boost 50 and Ghost upgrade enables this feature on the Tesla Model 3.
